Yakima

Yesterday we took a 7 hr. round trip for a 7 hr visit with Rachel, Casey, Megan and Addison. Casey was interviewing in Yakima WA, so we took a scenic drive down I-84, over the Columbia at Biggs junction and through beautiful south-central Washington on 97 then on in to Yakima on I-82. As you round up the hill into Washington you are met by "windmills on steroids". I have always been so amazed by these giant wind turbines. They have a Zen quality about them, so soothing and majestic. I tried to get some good pic's but Calvin was zipping down the hill (on the way home) and I was just randomly pointing and shooting out the window! The sky was beautiful and we could see rainstorms far off. I love the openness of that part of the country, and if Casey takes that job (fingers crossed) we will get to see more of it!

This was what we really sent to see:

Baby Addison (3 months)

Big sister Megan (2 yrs) Just out of the swimming pool.

We had a quick and great visit. We went on a little walk around town, to a soap store and the library, a great time in the pool with Meggie and some lounging time in the hotel room. Then it was back in the Subaru and headed home.
