Marvel Rae

I added these letters, telegram and picture to FamilySearch and Ancestry and just wanted to also put them here and to tell the story behind them.
My parents, Bob and LeeElda met in 1939 and were married in August, they were both young (Bob 19, LeeElda 17)  and had nothing in the way of material, wordly goods.  Their first child Marvel Rae was born in December of that same year.  They had been living in Nyssa Oregon, and then moved to Hermiston Oregon when dad got a job at the Army Ammunition Dump.  These letters were written to Bob's parents in Nebraska from there.  They are poignant, reading about how happy mom was and how much Marvel was loved, knowing that she would soon be gone. She died from Infantile diarrhea and went very quickly from a healthy 2 year old to very sick and then gone.  I can't imagine what a shock that must have been for them and the feelings of helplessness and heartache they endured as a  young couple.  I know this impacted their lives in many ways and often think of how it changed them.
I feel fortunate to have these letters and telegrams to document their history.
